United States CBRN & HAZMAT Technician Association

One Purpose. One Mission.

About USCHTA

Our long-term goal is to establish USCHTA & USBTA as the nationally recognized authority for all-hazards cooperative response, the exclusive owner of the National JHRT Training Curriculum, and the central coordinating body for training, technology, and R&D supporting the American CBRN and HAZMAT response community — with Indian Head, MD serving as the operational and innovation epicenter.

Who We Are

The United States CBRN & HAZMAT Technician Association (USCHTA) unites the nation’s military CBRN technicians and public safety hazardous materials professionals within a single collaborative framework. As a sister organization to the United States Bomb Technician Association (USBTA), we are headquartered at the Bomb Disposal Technology & Training Center (BDTTC) in Indian Head, Maryland, operating alongside the USBTA under a shared infrastructure, partner network, and strategic mission.

USCHTA embodies the next evolution in advancing responder safety and operational capability by fostering collaboration, technology exposure, interoperability, training, innovation, and wellness across the CBRN and HAZMAT professional community. We provide a national platform to bring together tribal, state, local, federal, and military agencies, ensuring strong technical integration and unified doctrine to address today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape.
